- It was formed in Europe and given to the rest of the worl

- Let’s explore another history. One that touches upon on 3
moments:
1. Discovery of the new world
2. Moving east: prize law, opium wars and unequal treaties
3. Tha mad scramble (de gekke strijd om …) for Africa
- Amidst these very different historical moments we can begin to
see:
a. How international legal arguments are used to justify
colonialism, empire and capitalism, and;
b. How the structure of these legal arguments reverberate in an
structure contemporary international legal doctrines
