This document contains a summary of all 13 set works in the Edexcel A-Level specification for the appraising exam. It approaches AoS 1, 2 and 4 (Vocal Music, Instrumental Music and Popular Music & Jazz) in a holistic manner, describing the key features for each movement of each set piece. AoS 3, 5 and 6 (Music for Film, Fusions and New Directions) are approached in a more linear way, with each movement being described in detail in chronological order. This is because these areas are the ones I recommend for the question 6 (30 mark essay), as I feel they have the most you can write about. I have also included 6 wider references per set work (apart from AoS 3, where each set work has 4 wider references because there are 3 set works rather than 2) and also explained how they link to the piece.

Context The thematic material for this cantata comes from the well-known
