According to the study guide pg.14 the road transport industry plays a significant role
in shaping and interacting with the macro environment, which comprises various
interconnected factors like technological, economic, social, physical, institutional, and
political variables.



a. Economic Contribution:

Road transport contributes to the economy by transporting freight and passengers,
thereby facilitating trade and commerce. It creates job opportunities directly within the
industry.

It also indirectly supports other industries by consuming their goods and services. For
example, it requires fuel, vehicle parts, maintenance services, etc., which stimulates
economic activity in related sectors.
