Unit: 19 p5
Title: Developing teams in business
Teacher: Marry

Demonstrate working as part of a team
towards achieving specific goals, dealing
with any conflict or difficult situations as a
team leader.
I worked as a part of team A we set ourselves a goal which was to go paintballing in order to our
team work which we achieved but before we did all of that we had to firstly choose a team leader,
Bajram was the only person who stepped up so we chose him to be the leader, Bajram had an
autocratic type of leadership which lead to have some problems early on.

How we as a team reached our goal:
As a team we discussed about what activities we could do and steps we need to make, we had
regular meeting and during these meetings we were able to decide what we were going to do which
was paintballing. The reason why we chose paintballing was because it was a fun way of working as
a team as it allows us to of improve our team dynamics, team communication and others. We also
had to find a location that was close and choose date that everyone is happy with and after all of
that we decided to paintballing in the Upminster location, on the 2nd June 2016 and the amount of
money that needed to be taken was £100.

Difficulty 1:
Some members of the team did not like Bajram leadership which caused tension within the team
and later on lead to arguments, Bajram had an autocratic leadership so he would make sure that
every member of Team A knew exactly what they were doing and then he will have no tolerance for
us, we will have to do the job as he say or he will tell the person who is still struggling to simply to
leave.
Conflict 1:
Bajram was faced a number of conflicts with some members of the team. This is because some
individuals Bajram did now share out the job roles fairly as some members of the team had some to
do where as other didn’t have much to do. How this was quickly resolved because he sat everybody
down and allowed members of the team to express how the feel about their roles and members told
him who they felt had didn’t have enough work and too much work, so people who didn’t have
enough work would take some work load from people who had too much work, this conflict
between the team was easily resolved as a result of this.
How I as a team leader dealt with problems:
All difficulties and conflicts where managed in an autocratic leader ship style, this either lead to him
just saying it’s this or nothing, as clarified in the difficulty 1 or he sat them down and identified the
issue and after that went ahead to settled it as identified in conflict 1.

Signs of conflict:
 Constant disagreement
 Lack of respect between team members
 Negative public statement
