Organizational Behavior
Part 1
What types of power do you think are most important for a new
CEO, especially if they are considered an “outsider”?
A chief executive officer (CEO) is the person in charge of running a
company. They make the ultimate judgments and have the final say about
what happens. Because of this, they need to have a definite amount of
power to work. One of the most important things a CEO can do is make quick
and effective decisions (Velte, 2019). This is significant because a corporation
usually has a lot of moving parts, and the CEO must make decisions that
keep the business moving forward. Another excellent feature is the capacity
to offer work activities and obligations to other people. This is significant
because the CEO cannot do everything, and they need to be willing to
believe that other people can do the jobs they are given. Lastly, it is
meaningful for a CEO to be able to stimulate and encourage other people to
do well. This is important because a corporation is only as productive as its
employees, and a CEO needs to be able to get staff members to purchase
into the industry's direction and objectives.
Although it's not uncommon for new CEOs to rebuild their
management team, what message do you think it sends to
employees?
