Basics 1 Puberty:
Sexual characteristics: Boy -> penis and scrotum and Girl -> vulva
Intersex: Characteristics differs from the norm
puberty: Experience physical, metal and behavioural changes
Primary sexual characteristics: Present at brith
Secondary sexual characteristics: During puberty
Basics 2 A woman:
Female reproductive system:
- Womb: This is where a fertilized egg can develop into a baby
- Overies: Where the development of the ova ( female egg cells ) takes place, ova start to develop in puberty
under influence of hormones from the pituitary gland, the ovum contains a lot of food reserves
- Clitonis: Sensitive to stimuli that give a nice feeling
- Inner labia: Thin, smooth flods of skin
- Outer labia: Thick folds of skin covered in hair
-Vagina: Has a mucous lining on the inside
Menstrual cycle:
- Menstruation: Monthly loss of the womb lining and blood
- Menstrual cylce:
Day 1: Start of menstruation, womb lining is discharged
Day 5: Womb lining starts to build up again
Day 14: Ovulation -> When an ovum is released from an ovary
Day 28: Last day, womb lining stops building up
Basics 3 A man:
Male reproductive system:
- Testes: Produce sperm cells and make the hormone testorterone
- Scrotum: Where the tester are located, temperature is lower for the sperm cells
- Semival vesicles & Prostate: Add fluid to sperm cells with nutrient -> semen
- Epidymis: Where the sperm cells are stored
