Introduction
In this assignment I will be evaluating how successful a selected business organisation has been in
preparing for the growing use of e-business. The business I will be analysing is Amazon.
Implication of trends on customers
Need for technical literacy to access full range of services
In order to use an online website customers will need to have basic IT skills in order to understand
and use all the software’s and features of the website, this is important to Amazon because they are
an online business which means the only way customers can purchase their product is through
online so it’s essential their website basic and easy to use as possible so anyone can use it without
any issues. To make it easy for customers Amazon website is separated into different department
also the website can also be translated using Google translate. This is beneficial because not
everyone’s first language is English so by being able to translate will change the information on the
page into a language of their chosen so that they can read and have a better understanding of the
products.
Cost of benefit
Low Overhead Costs:
Running an e-business is very beneficial as it allows businesses to reduce cost. An online business
like Amazon and eBay are able to save a lot of money as they don’t need to pay rent, taxes, water
bills, gas bills and others unlike in the traditional marketing. Also amazon is online business which
means they don’t need that many staff members plus they don’t have to pay them that much
because they don’t need someone to update the website during business hours. This is a benefit as it
allows amazon to save and use that money on business activities such as promotion and
advertisement.
