CYB-210 Project Two: Network Diagram and Rationale
CYB-210 Project Two: Network Diagram and Rationale. In this scenario we are tasked with combining Subnet1 and Subnet2 into NetworkA, configure static routing between NetworkA and Network3 configure DHCP and DNS services, and NAT configuration for ping capabilities and communication between the networks. To start I decide to delete Subnet2 and shut down the unused port FA0/1 on the Subnet_Router for better security. I than moved all the computers and printers from Subnet2 to Subnet1 and reconfigured and assigned them static IP address to use the new 192.168.1.1 gateway instead of the 192.168.5.1 gateway. I then connected the Subnet_Router to the Network3_Router via serial cable which could possibly lead to a slower network compared to ethernet or fiber cables. I then implemented RIP and configured static routing between the two routers so the two networks can communicate. I than configured the DHCP and DNS service on Server_Network3 to hand out IP address to the devices, limiting the number of users for each network to 100 users this can be reconfigured later if needed for expansion. I than ran ping command from a PC on Network3 to a PC on NetworkA and the ping was successful. I than ran a ping command from a PC on NetworkA to a PC on Network3 just to make sure everything was configured correctly. Below I will attach screen shots of the steps used to complete this scenario.
