This week’s Shadow Health module helped me assess Ms. Tina Jones mental health problems like the difficulty sleeping and stressful activity for the future. It will be enabled me determine like a real situation because I did some assessment to a patient in the clinic recently, but I did not go through all those because she came for reevaluation of the sleeping medicine the doctor prescribed her. This also helps me prepare to interact with the patient that has a complaint on mental health issues such as difficulty sleeping, stress event, suicidal thoughts, depression, and anxiety. How did you grow? The shadow health helps me facilitate in preparation of my clinical practice. Help me become more organized in asking questions related to mental health issues. It’s tough to ask mental health questions because I am not used to it, but I think I need to have more modules like this to get more practice. A different patient with a different history would be better. How do you plan to improve? I plan to improve my health assessment technique in the real situation by putting things all together. I need to develop a flow of mental health assessment, sometimes patient like these already has some anxiety medicine, so I don’t know what else to give just in case. I need to explore more about prescribing medication like this situation if patient already has sleeping problems with anxiety and sleeping medication currently prescribe.
