Human Sexuality Psych/Soc 453, Summer 2018

Welcome!
This is a course about sex. More
specifically, it is about human sexuality.
Sexuality is a fundamental part of the
human experience. Regardless of whether
one is engaging in sexual intercourse or
not, it is difficult to avoid exposure to
any mention of human sexuality in the
world (e.g., peers, the media, religion). In
this course, we will examine human
sexuality through biological, psychology,
and sociological lenses. We will learn
about anatomy, identity, sexual health,
contraception, and many more topics.

Course Overview
You will read Understanding Human Sexuality, which will be augmented with readings and videos from
the popular press and social media as well as our online modules through Canvas
(https://canvas.wisc.edu/courses/101937).

Your course grade will be based on the quality and timeliness of your completing the Assignments each
week including interactive discussions (conducted asynchronously through the discussion board), your
completion of weekly quizzes on Canvas, and an online final examination.

You will be expected to engage with the course, by logging into Canvas multiple times per week.
