Assessment and Health and Illness Beliefs As a nurse, you need to build trusting relationships with patients. Part of forming a trust is listening to each patient's individual needs and having an understanding of his or her culture. An assessment is the collection of data about a patient's healthcare or state. It is a technique that collects and analyzes all of the data about the patient's medical history. Some patients think that disease and illness come from a biomedical, naturalistic, holistic, or a magicorereligious perspective. Biomedical is also known as a scientific theory of disease. This means that an illness has a cause and effect. Healthcare and medical staff believe that This study source was downloaded by from CourseH
