In chapter 2.1 we talked about classification. Classification is putting living
things into groups. We call these groups taxons. Every animal has its own name
within its species. We call these names binomial names. These names are
basically two names, the genus and the species. The first name is the genus
and the last name is from the species. These names are made so everyone
could know what animal they were talking about in different languages,
because the other names are different in different languages. There are 4
kingdoms, all with different cells (look 1.3). Animals, bacteria, fungi and
plants. Because of the different cells, they are put into these groups separate
groups.

Bacteria are everywhere. You breathe it in and out, on top of table, literally
everywhere. But first of all let me clear some things. 1. Not all bacteria are
bad. And 2. Bacteria get on everything! Not only on or inside of things that
are dirty. Bacteria are not bad, at least not all of them. A few are but most of
them help your body! If you get sick, you probably use antibiotics. Those are
good for you but can also kill some good bacteria. These grow back though
don’t worry. When reproducing, bacteria split in half. So they just multiply.
Cool huh?! Shapes, there are 3 different shapes of bacteria. A sphere, a rod
and a spiral. These have a function I believe, but I can’t find them.

Fungi are things like mushrooms and moss. Some fungi can kill of bacteria.
Let’s talk about these fungi, shall we? Fungi are eukaryotes, this means that
they have a nucleus and stuff. The funny thing about fungi is that on first
glance, they look like plants while in reality, they are considered to be more
similar to animals. But how do fungi reproduce? Fungi reproduce by making
spores, covering the ground (or whatever it grows on) with the spores and
then the fungi grows. Spores can be spread by wind, so it grows everywhere.
But they are also way smaller than seeds. Most fungi are multicellular, but a
