research on child friendly cities
This study aims to identify the scientific enablers and barriers that affect the implementation of social-spatial planning and child-friendly policy in the city of Rotterdam. Understanding the gaps will bring about innovative ideas and thus will bring the growth of science. So far there hasn’t been research on the effects of the implementation of child-friendly policies in Rotterdam and how successful it has been. This research will describe policy design and stages of the policy cycle and focus on the implementation of the building blocks. Taking into consideration the four building blocks of housing, public spaces, facilities, and routes the research will identify enablers and barriers. Few city-wide studies have been conducted than the neighbourhood studies concerning the subject of child-friendliness this research will bring the understanding of what can be changed in future.
