, Aanleiding
Tijdens mijn afstudeerstage bij het …. kwam er een nieuwe patiënt in de praktijk
met chronische lage rugklachten. Zij was al bij veel fysiotherapeuten langs
geweest maar tot op heden heeft nog niemand haar echt goed kunnen helpen.
Onlangs had mijn stagebegeleider zijn cursus ‘McKenzie therapie’ voor de lage
rug afgerond. Ondanks dat de patiënt nog niet bekend was met deze
therapievorm stond ze ervoor open om dit te proberen. Door het toepassen van
de McKenzie therapie merkten wij en vooral zij vrijwel direct resultaat. Blijkbaar is
deze manier van therapie heel effectief voor haar, toch staat hier niks over in de
KNGF-richtlijn lage rugpijn (2017). Dit was voor mij de reden om te onderzoeken
of er meer evidentie is voor het effect van de McKenzie therapie op chronische
lage rugpijn
