Advertising – including online methods
Advertising is to catch the public's attention to your business. This is usually to
promote a product or a service, through the use of several forms of media, such
as the internet. The internet can be used in many forms such as if I want to
promote a new product I will first share it on the most popular social media app
which are Instagram, YouTube and twitter which will help notify people. I would
use advertising in my business because it me to introduce and promote my
product to customers for sale. So when my business launches my new product I
will advertise my new product in order to create awareness and consumer
interest. It also intends to boost the sale. For example JD and footlocker use
advertising when they want to great attention for a new product; usually they
advertise the new product on trending social media apps/site like Instagram
because they know that millions of people will see it on there.

Personal selling
Personal selling is when a businesses use people to sell a product after meeting
face-to-face with the customer this done through promotion because the sellers
promote the product through their attitude, appearance and specialist product
knowledge. The whole point of it is to inform and push the customer to buy
without looking pushy or at least trial the product. I would personal
selling because it includes these:
 High customer attention
 Message is customised
 Interactivity

 Persuasive impact
 Potential for development of relationship
 Adaptable
 Opportunity to close the sale
An example of a business that uses personal selling is perfume because a
customer can get advice on how to apply the perfume and can try different
perfume. Products with fairly high prices, or with complex features, are usually
sold using personal selling.

Sponsorship
Sponsorship is when you support an organisation by providing money or other
resources that is of value to the sponsored event. This is usually in return for
advertising space at the event or as part of the publicity for the event. I would
use sponsorship because it gives my business media exposure this is because all
events have their own marketing efforts to make sure the event is successful.
When my business involved, my business will automatically get all the benefit of
being promoted throughout the process also some events have local media
support while others may offer national campaigns but my business offer
national campaigns because my business is worldwide. This could provide
extended exposure and visibility in markets they have not tapped into yet.
An example of a business that uses sponsorship is puma. Puma
sponsored Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt $10 million in order to get
the brand name out so by sponsoring the fast man alive it influences fans and
general people to buy their product.

Promotional activities
Promotional activities are when all the activities get carried out by an
organisation for promoting its brand. Promotional activities include advertising
on things such as television, radio, internet etc. doing personal selling i.e. Selling
the products through sales person or door to door selling etc. An organisation
can also promote its products through public relations i.e. by use of
newspapers, media. It can sponsor events so that it can catch the eyes of the
