My name is thato zinhla. I am an energetic gentle man aged 25. Mylife email address
is ……….co.za. My TA is J shwartz. I am in group ……..g5830. I am really looking
to pass this module and to know more about studying online. This module is wholly
done online which makes a little bit confusing for someone like me. I have never
done my studies using a more technological approach of studying using computers.
Our world is fast moving going into a more technological advancement of inter
grating education and computers. This is so fascinating and have told myself not to
panic by to enjoy this new method of learning. For me, the advantages outweigh the
disadvantage, it is available to students 24X7 and it provides a large pool of
information on each and every topic around the world. Further, the information online
is up to date when compared to books. While learning with gadgets, the students are
being able to learn many other soft and technological skills.
2. How can you as a student ensure that you reference properly and avoid
plagiarism in your activities and assignments? (100 words, 2 marks)
Plagiarism is the unethical practice of using words or ideas (either planned or
accidental) of another author/researcher or your own previous works without proper
acknowledgment. Considered as a serious academic and intellectual offense,
plagiarism can result in highly negative consequences such as paper retractions and
loss of author credibility and reputation. It is currently a grave problem in academic
