, Introduction
This is a network design and implementation report to document a network deployment for the
client. The client has requested for a new network in their branch office, this network will compose
of a server, 3 workstations and wireless access point. That also the server should have two network
shares for the manager and assistants’ where the manager also has access to the assistants’ share.
They have also requested the network to be secured and protected against from common threats
also having remote and internet access. In this document, I will be detailing how I will achieve each
of their requirements via the combinations of methods such as firewall, network shares etc. Where
the aim of this project is developing a secured and effective network but also scalable which fits with
the needs of the client
Importance of a network plan
In the email below, I have discussed with the client about the use of a network plan to assist in the
deployment of the new network as well as why it is required.

Dear Mr David,
I am hoping you are doing well.
Am contacting you regarding planning of the network plan. To why we require a network plan,
is to ensure the implementation of the network system is successful, as we need to
understand your needs for the network and how it can be met as well as designing the
network to fit your future needs. This can also help us properly organise and quickly
implement the network as without the plan it can delays the network implementation
affecting your business operations.
This plan will contain your requirements for the new network that we have discussed in a
previous conversation, that you have requested a server and 3 workstations connected via a
wired network and an also an additional wireless access. I will be also suggesting, that 2 group
users to be created for manager and assistants with each their own controlled shared folder.
This is to protect the manager files from unauthorised access from other employees. The
manager will also have access to the assistant shared folders.
As for protecting and securing the network, we will be implementing a firewall to protect your
business network from common threats and unauthorised access.
Last of all, with this plan we will be able to keep costs to minimal as we can understand the
needs of your business while having more than sufficient performance.
