Project management is the process that involves a lot of methods, skills, and knowledge
to meet the requirement of a specific objective or target. It ensures that the
management can deliver the final product in a finite timespan.
The core components of a project management are:
- Finding the reason why the project is necessary.
- Capturing the project requirements, estimating resources and timescales.
- Preparing the company for the initial investment.
- Securing the agreement and funding.
- Leading and motivating the project delivery team.
As a project manager you must ensure that you can deliver the following:
- Managing the risks, issues, and changes within the project
- - monitoring progress against the initial plan.
- Managing the project budget.
- Maintaining constant communications.
- Providing high quality management.
In my opinion what makes the project management involves all those steps. Most
importantly ensuring that the team and the project are available at any time, if the
team is not there, then efficiency cannot be met, and targets cannot be achieved.
When the project is available and the team is there, then its easy to work. What makes
project manager is a lot of teamwork, dedication and following different principles.
What can cause a project to fail? There are plenty of reason that can make a project
fail. A change in organizational priorities is the main reason. What that would mean is
that targets are not prioritised, and others are ignored. Also, a change in objectives
can also cause a project to fail. The lack of communication can cause the project to
easily reach failure.

, Why do projects fail?
There are plenty of reason why a project might fail. If a project has unclear goals or
goals that are constantly shifting around then the project cannot meet a specific
objective on time. If this object is not clearly defined the team will have difficulties
achieving it. The second big reason is the communication fail. Lack of communication is a
problem that leads to project failure. If the team does not communicate with each
other, then they will not know what tasks they are assigned and what progress is made.
The lack of planning also contributes to a project failure. If the team lacks on planning
they will not be able to reach a specific deadline therefore they will need to extend
their time because of poor planning which will lead to budget overrun which in the long
run will lead to project failure as they will run out of resources. The lack of risk
management within project management must be as minimal as possible especially for
big projects with a lot of funds invested. The risk can never be 0. For example, if a risk
has not been assessed properly or on time and the hazards happens then this can lead
to project failure as the potential damage and outcome is unknown because of the poor
risk assessment. Unsuitable tools can lead to project failure. For example, within an app
development project, if the necessary devices and software’s does not operate properly
then this is a big issue because you cannot do anything without those tools.
