Indeed, on social media (Linkedln, Facebook etc.), in local newspapers etc. The diversity of the

Barnsley College is looking for a Receptionist working on the first
desks of the College.
Job Specification:
As a receptionist working on the first desks of the College, the main duties will
be:
To offer information politely to all (students, visitors, potential students
etc.) who ask questions about the services offered by the College.

To guide people to the right departments.
To answer phone calls and emails and to redirect the redirect them to the
appropriate department if needed.
To keep a register of all those who enter or leave the College.
The perfect candidate for this job must have adequate education. Level 3 or
equivalent is needed, but having a higher education would be an advantage.
Skills Required:
Since it is a job that interaction with the public is a main task, the receptionist
must have excellent communication skills and computer skills. He/she has to be
friendly, kind. We are looking for a person who pays attention to our students
and visitors, a person able to greet people and give them a smile, creating a
professional and optimistic for those who enter our College.
The job is full time and offers excellent working environment, the possibility of

Reporting to: Head of Information and Guidance Department
Grade: T2
Summary of the Post: The Barnsley College wants to find a friendly and hardworking
receptionist working on the front desks of the College. The perfect candidate of the position has
as responsibilities mainly the performance of specific reception operations of students and
visitors and to provide information and help, having answers to all their questions. The
receptionist guides the visitors to the correct departments of the College, answers emails and
phone calls or directing them. Communication skills and a polite and kind attitude are essential
for this job. Whereas the receptionist is the first employee of the College with whom a guest
interacts, he/she has to create a good first impression.
Main Duties:
o To ensure the activity of general information for the public; to provide complete and
personalized answers to the requests received from students, parents, potential students
and other visitors, regardless of the nature of the request (information, redirect,
assistance, counseling, service information etc.).
o To provide the requested information in a polite way.
o To know permanently all the services offered by the College or to perform searches in
order to obtain the answers (Internet, Company computer applications).
o To keep track of people who have access to College (to register all persons entering or
leaving the College).
