1 - Birthday party
One event I could organize is my sister’s 18th birthday party. I believe that
the event will be successful, taking into account the following elements:
The venue – The birthday party can be held at our house, since our house is
a spacious one, with a large garden, the ideal place for an outdoor party. If
the weather does not allow the party to take place outside, our house has a
very large living room, spacious enough for holding the party indoor. As the
party is held at home, there is no cost to rent a venue nor the risk of not
finding a venue available, so which would increase the feasibility of the
event.
The location – Our house is located in an accessible and easy to find place.
Guests can come by personal cars because near the house there is a large
parking lot where they can leave their cars. The party takes place on Sunday
and parking is free on this day. They can also come by public transport as
the bus station is quite close. In addition, all the guests are part of my family
or friends who already know where she lives.
The catering – Some of dishes are ordered from a takeaway (Mc Donald’s,
KFC, Taco Bell), since almost everyone likes fast food. While other dishes
such as the cake or the candy bar are prepared at home by us and our parents
in order to reduce the costs. The drinks are bought from a supermarket as the
prices are more advantageous.
, The time - the party takes place on Sunday afternoon so that guests can
come. It also does not take place until a late hour so as not to disturb the
neighbors and because the guests go to work or school the next day.
Party decorations are handmade by us and purchased online from eBay and
Amazon, as these sites have a wide variety of decorations at fairly affordable
prices.
In terms of entertainment, we have a DJ who is a friend of ours and
requires a small amount of money for the service provided. The sound
equipment is brought by him. Also another friend of ours took photography
classes and he can take the photos.
As the purpose of the event is the celebration of my sister 18th birthday party, the
success of the event is measured in the number of guests coming. It is important
that the guests feel good and to have fun.
2. Coffee Morning
Another event I could organize is a coffee morning at the College level.
The purpose of the event is to raise funds for children diagnosed with autism.
Coffee mornings have always been successful events that have led to
fundraising but lately they have not been organized, which gives us a great
opportunity to raise funds. The success of the event depends on our team
skills (teamwork, communication, marketing strategies, hard work, ambitious
etc.)
The venue – Since it is a College level event, we ask that our event
may take place inside the College. The best place is the College cafe,
with the help of the school management we are able to organize the
event in this place, the café manager together with his team offers to
help us, whereas he is interested in supporting a charitable cause.
