Shock o Widespread abnormal cellular metabolism, oxygenation and tissue perfusion needs are not met, body response to poor tissue oxygenation and perfusion. 1. The Body can go through multiple types of shock at one time. o Hypovolemic 1. Too little circulating blood, poor clotting, and total body fluid decreased, hemorrhage, dehydration (burns or anaphylaxis) (decrease in MAP) 1. Compensatory mechanisms provide adequate oxygen and perfusion without intervention, though will lead to MOD Hemorrhage, trauma, GI ulcer, surgery, inadequate clotting, dehydration (vomiting, diarrhea, heavy diaphoresis, diuretics) 2.
