A business needs to ensure that all the products or services it
sells are do not have any faults or defects.
Quality products help businesses:
Þ establish a brand image
Þ build brand loyalty
Þ maintain a good reputation
Þ increase sales
Þ attract new customers.
If the quality is not maintained:
• lose customers to competitors
• have to replace faulty products or offer to repeat a service
that was poor this increases costs
• customers tell other people and a bad reputation is built
