Employees can be held accountable when clear goals are established and communicated. When mangers define expectations, employees benefit from the open lines of communication which allows for better focus on the mutual goals. A2. Process of Setting Employee Expectations When setting performance expectations managers should first establish goals and clearly communicate expectations. The second step in the process is to observe the goals that have been established, then coach and provide feedback and positive reinforcement once observation is complete. B1. Progress will be evaluated every thirty days with a final assessment at the end of the ninety days. John needs to improve his time management and the management of his employees. John’s first objective will be to complete online courses directly related to the areas where improvement is needed. The two courses John can participate in are Microsoft Outlook Calendar Overview and Effective Leadership and Communication for Managers. John must enroll in and complete both courses within sixty days. Each end of course assessment must be completed with a minimum score of 80%. Johns second objective is to implement what was learned in the courses. During implementation John will be required to schedule calendar events for due dates and notify management once federal and state documents have been prepared for mailing. This notification must take place 10 days before mailing deadline. John will also be required to keep employee off days on the outlook calendar in an effort to ensure approved off days are not over lapping. John’s third and final objective is to enforce the company’s policies regarding distributing workloads and approving time off. John must show immediate improvement in managing the employees in his department.
