Shawn’s C841 Task 1 Quick Guide Recommendation is to write a paper for parts A and B of the task and develop a PowerPoint presentation for part C. No particular paper format is specified in the requirements, but there is specific guidance to use APA format for sources in part D (include both in-text citations and a reference list for sources that are quoted, paraphrased, or summarized). Depending on the interpretation point of view, this could mean (1) use APA style IF you quote sources, OR (2) you MUST quote sources in your submission and those quoted sources must be in APA format. My recommendation is to go with option (2) and cite a reference or few to support your work and so that you demonstrate knowledge of APA style citations/reference list format. I recommend using the rubric points as headers for parts A & B of your submission to ensure you answer all questions being asked. A – Application of Law A1 – CFAA & ECPA Briefly define the act (or at least the part(s) of it pertaining to the examples from the case study you plan to use) and what it covers to demonstrate your knowledge of it and establish your reference point for your examples: “The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act addressess xyz.” • Tie specific applicable aspects of the act to specific instances in the case study and explain: “(Within the case study/At TechFIte), person/entity X did X action which resulted in X endstate. X specific aspect of these actions by X person violated the Computer Fraud and Abuse act because X. A2 – Three Laws/regulations/legal cases that justify legal action State the three laws you will be using: “Three laws that can be used in the justification of legal action against negligent activity observed (within the case study/at TechFite) are Law 1, Law 2, and Law 3.” • Briefly define law/regulation/case 1 (or at least the part(s) of it pertaining to the example you plan to use) and then tie to specific instance(s) in the case study. • Briefly define law/regulation/case 2 (or at least the part(s) of it pertaining to the example you plan to use) and then tie to specific instance(s) in the case study. • Briefly define law/regulation/case 3 (or at least the part(s) of it pertaining to the example you plan to use) and then tie to specific instance(s) in the case study. A3 – Duty of Care Briefly define duty of due care to demonstrate your knowledge of it and establish your reference point for your examples. Then identify and explain two instances of how it was lacking i.e. “Duty of due care is defined as xyz.” Two distinct instances of where duty of due care was lacking (within the case study/at TechFite) are described in the following examples.”
