1 MAGNETIC FORCE

The magnetic force that acts on a charge, q, that moves with velocity v in
a magnetic field B, is given by:

F = q v B sin θ

θ is the angle between v and B




2 RIGHT-HAND RULE

To find the direction of the force, use the right-hand rule.


Point your index finger in the direction of the velocity, your
middle finger in the direction of the magnetic field, and your
thumb is in the direction of the magnetic force.
