EMF AND CIRCUITS

1 EMF

IA source of emf is any device that increses the electric potential energy of
charges in an electric circuit. This device can be a generator or battery, the
battery’s terminal voltage is:

ΔV = ε - Ir

Here ε is the battery’s emf, I is the current and r is the battery’s internal
resistance

2 RESISTORS
Resistors can be connected in series or parallel to each other.

The equivalent or total resistance of the circuit depends on how
the individual resistors are connected to each other.
