important to understand that community supervision has two components. The person

Q7: Execution of Punishment
A: After a trial court imposes a sentence of incarceration, the execution of the sentence

assessed punishment is imposed, and the execution of the sentence actually begins with

trial court may suspend further execution of the sentence and place the defendant on
shock community supervision. In regular community supervision the imposition of the
sentence is suspended.
