Notes
. Core Objective
The objective of this preparation strategy is to develop a systematic approach to NEET by
combining conceptual learning, self-made notes, regular revision, MCQ practice, previous-
year questions (PYQs), NCERT study, and test analysis.
This strategy can be used by students at different stages of preparation:
• Students who have not started the syllabus.
• Students who have pending chapters or backlogs.
• Students who have completed part of the syllabus.
• Students who have completed the syllabus and need revision and practice.
The target is to prepare effectively for a score of 600 or above. However, no study strategy
can guarantee a particular score or selection.
. The Eight Essential Tasks for Every Chapter
Every chapter should be studied systematically. The following eight tasks form the core of
the preparation plan.
Task 1: Complete the Lectures
• Watch the required lectures for every chapter.
• Focus on understanding concepts during the lecture itself.
• Avoid skipping important explanations, especially in Physics and Chemistry.
• Do not consider a chapter complete simply because you have watched a one-shot
lecture.
• For Biology, one-shot lectures combined with thorough NCERT reading may be an
option, depending on your understanding and preparation level.
Important principle: Understand the concepts while studying instead of postponing all
learning until after the lecture.
Task 2: Make Your Own Notes and Revise Them
Prepare your own notes while attending lectures.
Your notes should include:
• Important concepts and definitions.
• Formulas and their applications.
, • Chemical reactions and equations.
• Important examples.
• Difficult concepts and confusing points.
• Short explanations that help you revise quickly.
After completing a lecture, revise the notes as soon as possible.
Self-made notes can help you identify what you understand and what requires further
revision. Keep them organised, concise, and easy to use before tests.
A practical starting point is to allocate around 15–30 minutes per lecture for revision,
adjusting the time according to the chapter's difficulty and the length of your notes.
Task 3: Practise MCQs Daily
Regular question practice is essential for applying the concepts learned in lectures.
The following daily targets are suggested:
Subject Suggested daily MCQs
Physics 40–50
Chemistry 40–50
Biology Around 100
These are suggested targets, not compulsory numbers for every student or every chapter.
Method for practising MCQs:
1. Attempt the question independently.
2. Check your answer.
3. Understand the correct solution.
4. Identify the reason for any incorrect answer.
5. Revisit the relevant concept or formula.
6. Record important mistakes for future revision.
Practise questions from the chapters currently being taught so that learning and application
progress together.
Task 4: Solve NEET Previous-Year Questions
After completing a chapter, solve its NEET PYQs.
• Practise relevant questions from previous years; a 15-year collection is the target
suggested in this plan.
• Identify the concepts tested in each question.
• Understand the correct approach instead of memorising answers.
