Foetal Alcohol Syndrome ~ A congenital condition that is
gained in a newborn from a mother’s consumption of alcohol
while pregnant. The condition can create a wide range of
developmental complications in the child as they grow older,
including a smaller, more deformed head, behavioural/focus
problems, issues with the child’s internal organs, as well as
distinctive facial features.
Maternal Infections during pregnancy that can also affect a
child’s development before and after birth include the
following:
Rubella
CMV
Chicken Pox
STI’S including Gonorrhoea, HIV, Hepatitis B and C,
Syphilis, Chlamydia, etc.

Babies are affected in the womb by what their mothers eat or
drink, and also by breastmilk after they are born.
A lack of exercise and/or a poor diet during pregnancy could
increase the chance of a mother developing pre-eclampsia
before labour and delivery. Unhealthy foods that the mother
consumes while pregnant can also aggrevate morning sickness
