Acute respiratory infections are primarily viral in etiology; however, antibiotics are often written (Shaver, Jacobs, LaMonte, & Noyes, 2019). Considering the major health concern of antibiotic resistance, it is imperative that providers of care be good stewards in the prescribing of antibiotic therapy.
