BSIS Firearms Training Manual 2026.
Isosceles Stance 1. The shooter is facing the target.
2. Shoulders are squared and both arms are forward and straight.
3. Shoulders and arms form an isosceles triangle.
Weaver Stance 1. The shooter stands in a position of interview at 45 degree angle to
silhouette target with the support hand forward, wedged toward the target.
2. The shooting arm elbow is slightly bent.
Modified weaver stance 1. The shooter stands in a position of interview at a 45 degree angle to the
silhouette target with the support hand forward, wedged toward the target.
2. Primary arm is locked at the elbow.

BSIS Firearms Training Manual 2026.
One-hand 1. The shooter holds the handgun with one hand.
Each individual shall qualify with an 80% score (200 True/False
out of 250 points on the scoring segment.
The approximate timeframe to process an initial True/False
firearms permit application is generally between 2 to 4
months (approx. 60 to 120 days).
Firearms renewal applications must be submitted to True/False
the Bureau at least 60 days prior to the expiration date
of the firearms permit.
If the guard first applied for and received a guard True/False
card, then applied for a firearms permit, the guard may
not carry a firearm while on duty until the firearms
permit is issued by the Bureau.

BSIS Firearms Training Manual 2026.
The Bureau shall not issue a firearms permit to: 1. a convicted felon
2. a person convicted of a misdemeanor who is prohibited from possession of
a firearm for a period of 10 years
3. an individual with a history of domestic violence or who is subject to
Temporary Retraining Order
A security guard must possess both a valid security True/False
guard registration and a valid firearms permit while
carrying an exposed firearm while on duty.
Expired firearms permits are not valid and cannot be True/False
renewed. A guard with an expired permit may not
carry a firearm while on duty.
If a guard fails to apply for renewal of a firearms True/False
permit prior to the expiration date on the permit, the
guard must apply for a new firearms permit as an initial
applicant and may not carry a firearm while on duty
until a new firearm permit is issued by the Bureau.
