independently
-basic PA advice to <15 and >69 years old

expertise
Muscular endurance
, ability to exert sub maximal force repeatedly, or sustain a static contraction
without fatigue
(pushups)
Emergency procedures
-Other
-loss of consciousness=initiate mergence procedures immediately
-if any other serious incident occurs= request emergency services, provide
emergency treatment (CPR/Automated External Defibrillator)
-complete an incident report form in <24 hours
Rockport Test Procedure
- warm up for 3 mins
- instruct participant to walk the mile as quickly as possible without speed
walking
-measure HR and RPE immediately at end of test
- field test = not in a controlled environment, no equipment
Physiological adaptations to training
, increase Q
increase Blood Volume
increase Hematocrit
increase Heart Volume
increase Blood flow to lungs
increase size and # of mitochondria of muscle
increase mitochondria enzymatic activity
increase capilarization
increase in fat oxidation enzyme activity
decrease in peripheral resistance
stages of transtheretical model
1) precontemplation
2) contemplation
3) preparation
4) action
5) maintenance
(Step 1-ASK)
First Meeting
establish rapport and gather information about the client's goals, physical
activity background, knowledge and interests, confirm readiness for physical
activity and secure informed consent
, Ballistic/Dynamic
bouncing and jerking movements at extreme ROM or point of discomfort
- can be bad (muscle spindle)
- can be used with individuals engaging in activities with ballistic movements
