COMM382 - CENTRALITY OF INTERPERSONAL SPACE INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION
Intercultural communication is a course that explores communication across different cultures and social groups and the way that culture affects communication. It describes the wide range of communication processes and problems that naturally appear within an organization for example in terms of social context made up of individuals from different religious, social, ethnic, and educational backgrounds. It furthermore seeks to understand how people from different state, countries and cultures act, communicate and perceive the world around them. Interpersonal communication is the process of exchange of information, ideas and feelings between two or more people through verbal or non-verbal methods. It majorly captures face-to-face exchange of information, in a form of voice, facial expressions, body language and gestures. The level of one’s interpersonal communication skills is measured through the effectiveness of transferring messages to others.
