A child best learns in an environment that is supportive to their

learning needs. From the position of furniture to what is carefully placed on a

wall, the students need minimal distractions for an enhanced learning

experience. “Healthy and supportive relationships are the key to brain

development, research suggests, that students thrive and learn best when

their teachers know them intellectually” (Hernandez, 2024). I have worked

with children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, with this experience

comes understanding a multitude of learning experiences that I can use with

my students, and this ensures that all needs are met so that each student

can meet the same result of passing a class, even with differentiated

learning in the same room at the same time.

Emotional Safety


Strong bonds with the teacher can also be instilled to ensure trust

within the classroom and a student feeling a sense of security. In the

beginning of each school year, I take the first few weeks to bond with my

students. Students can suffer when they are bullied or feel like they don’t

belong. According to an article, “more than 70% of middle and high school

students feel like schools are uncaring environments” (Hernandez, 2024).


Physical Safety


Both physical and emotional safety come in hand when working in the

classroom. When the student feels safe, they are more likely to come to
