PART 1: PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENT
1. Introduction
Part 1 of the portfolio assessment is designed to evaluate the student’s overall engagement
with the learning process during the 2026 academic year. The assessment does not focus
exclusively on academic knowledge or the completion of individual learning activities.
Instead, it adopts a broader approach by considering the student’s ability to follow portfolio
requirements, reflect critically on personal development, manage their own learning and
responsibilities, contribute effectively to teamwork, and participate consistently in webinars
and classes facilitated by the lecturers. These components collectively provide an
opportunity for the student to demonstrate both academic and personal growth throughout
the learning period.
The portfolio therefore serves as a record of the student’s development and participation
over time. It requires the student to move beyond simply describing what was done and to
consider how different learning experiences contributed to the development of knowledge,
skills, attitudes and professional competencies. The assessment further encourages
students to take responsibility for their own learning by identifying areas of strength,
recognising areas requiring improvement and developing appropriate strategies for
continued development. In this regard, Part 1 contributes a total of 45 marks towards the
overall portfolio assessment.
2. Adherence to Portfolio Instructions
The first component of the assessment focuses on the student’s adherence to the
prescribed portfolio instructions and carries a weighting of 6 marks. Following instructions
is an important aspect of academic and professional conduct because students are
