1. Create an introduction to your team meeting in which you share a personal, authentic
story to connect with and inspire your team

- Hello! My name is (insert name here), and I am excited to work with you as team manager as
we begin on a new journey of growth and excellence under our company. This opportunity
reminds me of the first day of my first job. I had no prior experience, and I was equally nervous
and excited to see both where I would go and what all I would learn. Looking back, I realize the
amount of friendships, connections, and experience I gained are still impacting both my work
and private life, and I hope that this experience will do the same for all of you.
2. Using at least 1 of the six company values, create a values-based vision statement
specific to your new role as the customer service manager
- As your new manager, I would like to encourage each of you to do three things:
- respect one another
- support each other’s growth, and
-unite in excellence.”
We, the employees, are both the foundation and the representation of our company. Thus, we
are either our strongest allies or our own worst enemies. Remember that we and every
individual you work with are people first, and it is imperative that we demonstrate our respect for
their hard work, opinions, input, and feedback. At the same time, recognize that this is a journey
of growth. Mistakes will be made, and actions will be taken that cannot be undone. In those
moments, I encourage you to be observant, humble, considerate, and supportive of your team
members, as making mistakes are a necessary step in long-term growth. Lastly, keep in mind
that our common goal is excellence. This requires you to give your best in all facets of your
work, especially in the small and routine tasks that are the basis of our operation.
3. Help your team understand emotional intellifence and how it will impact the team’s
effectiveness by doing the following in the next portion of your presentation:
3a. Discuss the importance of self-awareness, including an example of how you and
your team will use self-awareness in your daily interactions. Focusing on 1 of the
following elements:
- Emotional awareness
- Accurate self-assessment
- Self-confidence
- Essential to our field of work is knowledge, mastery, and practice of emotional
intelligence. In any field of work, YOU and your actions play a major role in the state and
outcome of any work or situation you may face. The key to maintaining
level-headedness and control is being aware of your emotions. Being able to stop
mid-crisis, calm yourself, and axxurately recognize the emotions you are facing and what
caused them gives you the power to alter and redirect any strong emotions involved to a
more effective outlet, while also helping you maintain a clear head and strong
decision-making. Whenever we are working together on a project and have reached a
