91.3 Responsibility and authority of the pilot -The pilot in command of an aircraft is directly responsible for,
in command. and is the final authority as to, the operation of that aircraft.
-In an emergency the pilot may deviate from any regulation to
meet that emergency
-A written report must be filed upon the request of the
administrator


91.7 Civil aircraft airworthiness -No person may operate an aircraft unless it is in airworthy
condition
-The PIC is responsible for determining if the airplane is in
condition for safe flight. The PIC shall discontinue the flight
when unairworthy mechanical, electrical, or structural
conditions occur


91.15 Dropping objects -No pilot in command of a civil aircraft may allow any object
to be dropped from that aircraft in flight that create a hazard
to persons or property
-However, the dropping of objects is not prohibited if
reasonable precautions are taken to avoid injury or damage to
property

91.17 Alcohol or drugs. No person may act or attempt to act as a crewmember of a
civil aircraft-
-Within 8 hours after the consumption of any alcohol
-While under the influence of alcohol
-While using any drug that affects the persons faculties in any
way contrary to safety
-While having an alcohol concentration of .04 or greater


91.21 Portable electronic devices. Portable electronic devices are prohibited on IFR and air
carrier flights
Exceptions to this rule include:
-Portable voice recorders
-Hearing aids
-Heart pacemakers
-Electric shavers
-Or any other device that the PIC determines will not interfere
with the aircraft's navigation or communication systems

91.103 Preflight action. Each pilot in command shall, before beginning a flight,
become familiar with all available information concerning that
flight including:
-Weather reports + forecasts
-Fuel requirements
-Alternatives available
-Runway lengths required


91.105 Flight crewmembers at stations -During takeoff and landing, and while en route, each
required flight crew member shall keep his or her safety belt
fastened while at his or her station
-If shoulder harnesses are available they must be used for
takeoff and landing


91.107 Use of safety belts, shoulder -Pilots must ensure that each occupant is briefed on how to
harnesses, and child restraint systems. use the safety belts and, if installed, shoulder harnesses.
-Pilots must notify all occupants to fasten their safety belts
before taxiing, taking off, or landing
-All passengers of airplanes must wear their safety belts
during taxi, takeoffs, and landings
-A passenger who has not reached his or her second birthday
may be held by an adult.
