2024 Arkansas Cosmetology State Law Exam

-10 members appointed every 5 years by the Governor January 15th
-can serve 2 nonconsecutive 5 year terms

member not practicing in the industry
-not connected to wholesale - ANS-members
-1500 hours
-no more than 8 hours a day
-no more than 6 days a week
-teach practical and theory - ANS-school term - cosmetology curriculum
-18+ years old for cosmo, esti and mani
-21+ years old for electrologists
-current valid out of state license upon application with evidence from licensed state
-passed national exam comparable to arkansas
-applicant passes arkansas law exam - ANS-reciprocity
, -350 hours or 600 hours practical training and technical instruction in 2 months for 350 hours
and 4 months for 600 hours - ANS-electrology course
-after 150 hours student can engage with other branches of cosmo on a paying client
-60 hours for mani, esti and electrologist
-school can only advertise as student work
-student can volunteer after completing 3/4's of course with an instructor and the event being
documented with no hours credited to student
-apply for student permit containing picture
-return student permit to state board - ANS-student work
-anyone to violate state board rules
-evidence may lead to criminal or civil penalty
-each day in violation is a separate offense - ANS-unlawful practices
-application must be accompanied by the required fee and proof of qualifications of applicant for
the exam
-application will be verified by the oath of the applicant - ANS-application for examination and
license
-applied in proper form
