, How to Use This Guide
Use this manual in three passes: learn, practice, and remediate. First read the concept summaries and worked examples.
Then answer the chapter questions without looking at the answer. Finally, record missed concepts and revisit only those
areas.

• Start with a diagnostic session before intensive study.

• Study in short blocks of 45–75 minutes and end each block with active recall.

• For mathematics and science, write formulas and relationships from memory.

• For reading and English, practice explaining why an answer is correct rather than simply selecting it.

• Track accuracy by content domain, not only by total score.

• Use a timer during mixed practice so pacing becomes automatic.

policies and preparation resources can change.

, PART I — EXAM STRATEGY
Know the Test
The TEAS 7 is divided into four timed sections. Because sections close when their allotted time ends, your pacing plan should
be section-specific. Do not spend several minutes trying to rescue one difficult item.

Pacing Targets
• Reading: about 73 seconds per item on average.

• Math: about 90 seconds per item on average.

• Science: about 72 seconds per item on average.

• English: about 60 seconds per item on average.

The 3-Pass Method
• Pass 1: answer straightforward questions immediately.

• Pass 2: return to questions that require a short calculation or careful reading.

• Pass 3: resolve the hardest remaining items using elimination and estimation.

When You Are Stuck
Identify the task, eliminate impossible choices, estimate when possible, and select the best supported answer. Never let one
item consume the time needed for several easier items.
