Exam Rules
I sincerely appreciate your help with my efforts to improve your education experience. We must
work together to create a fair environment for every student in the class. To achieve this, students
of this class are required to obey the following rules during the exam:
Seating:
Student must sit with at least one empty seat between you and your left/right neighbor.
ID checking:
Please place your photo ID on your desk. Proctors will check IDs during the exam.
Students with no photo ID will be flagged. The proctor will take a photo of you. Then,
you are required to bring the photo ID to the instructor or a person the instructor
designates for ID verification within 24 hours after the exam.
What to bring to the exam:
You will be allowed to bring ONE DOUBLE-SIDED cheat sheet.
Calculator
Water (if needed) but NO food.
Photo ID
What must NOT be brought to the exam:
Any other papers except the cheat sheet.
Cell phone, iPAD, laptop, and all other electronic devices must be turned off. Access to
these things is not permitted during the exam.
Asking questions during the exam:
Student with questions during the exam must come to the front of the room to ask the
instructor or the TA whoever is in the room, so as not to disturb other students.

, If there are more than one rooms that hold the students, the instructor/TA will walk
between the rooms. Student with questions must wait until the instructor/TA is back to the
room to ask the questions.
No question should be asked to the other proctors except the instructor or TA.
Leaving the room during the exam:
Student should not leave the room during the exam unless emergency that is reported to
the instructor or TA and get approval from the instructor or TA.
When student leaves the room, the student must be accompanied by a proctor.
No other students can leave the room until the previous student returns.
Ending of the exam:
When a designated proctor says “stop writing and put down your pen/pencil”, student
must do it immediately. Proctors can refuse collecting any exam if he/she observes the
student not following the order. Then, the exam will not be scored.
Exam distribution:
The exam is the property of Arizona State University. It cannot be copied or distributed.
You cannot post it on any website in any form. You also cannot share any knowledge of
the exam to other people.
Violations to the above rules as well as those identified in ASU’s Academic Integrity Policy will
be processed as required by this policy. The policy can be found at
