Problem
Solving the text-heavy presentation issues among our team members who lack visual
representation that makes presentations difficult to follow and understand.
Significance of the Problem
Communication through text has become a noticeable problem due to the cultural
differences that exist within our workplace. Language barriers and misinterpretations
have been an ongoing problem for the last few months, which has led to
misunderstandings and poor communication about important work-related tasks. Action
will be taken to make sure voices are understood and heard between employees,
maximizing the flow of communication in the work environment. Being clear and concise
is a must when presenting in a professional setting. “Since most people are visual
learners, images can simplify complicated ideas and eliminate the language barrier.”
(Burokas 2025). Implementing more visuals like diagrams, charts, and graphics in a
presentation is the most effective way to establish an understanding for all team
members, no matter the cultural differences one may have.
Statement of Purpose
Our purpose is to help team members learn new modes of communication through
visual aids since “people react to visual stimuli because they convey a message almost
instantly” (Chaneski 2014). Visual stimuli will further help with bridging the gap of
miscommunication between employees, peers, and managers in the workplace. To
solve this ongoing problem, learning and understanding visual charts, short clips,
graphics, and the use of digrams/graphs are necessary for communication. Using a
multilingual communication process will also help convey a clear message to those with
different languages and cultural backgrounds.
Course of Action
To start, we will need to host training seminars on visual aids. Arranging breif lunch and
learn sessions where team members will learn how to advance their message through a
short clip/animation, graphics, or visual charts. Seminars will also focus on how to read
and use graphs, diagrams, and icons. As Pamela Hopkins exclaims, “all visual aids are
meant to reinforce your main message!” (Hopkins 2022). To show how useful visual
