The thesis statement expresses the central idea or
main argument of the entire passage. It guides the
reader about what the passage will discuss.
Placement
It is usually the last sentence of the introduction. It allows you to
introduce the context before the supporting paragraphs.

Smoking is injurious to health. (Opinion)
Smoking is injurious to health because it affects heart, lungs
and even brain. (Thesis)
Regular physical exercise plays a vital role in maintaining both
