1.In the determination of visitation rights to a child from a grandparent, the judge should determine the positive effects they’d have on their grandchild. A judge should look into the grandparent’s ability to be a helping hand in financials, as well as babysitting, and caretaking of the child. They should determine the relationship the grandparent has with the child’s parent/guardian. Is their relationship a healthy one to provide guidance to the child? The judge should also determine if the grandparent is healthy physically and mentally. Lastly, a grandparent should be able to offer wisdom and knowledge of their past and the life they’ve lived to their grandchild. The judge should determine if their knowledge and guidance is positive and will shape the child into a better individual,
as an example you would not want to have a grandparent encourage drug or alcohol use. 2.In the determination of visitation rights to a child from a grandparent, the judge should determine the negative effects they’d have on their grandchild.
