- The breast milk that comes from mom in the first three days is called
colostrum; it is a small but highly heavy and nutritious.
- Full of amino acids, fat and makes a huge difference. This milk also has
antibodies
- F rom days 5-25 this milk is diluted but still has amino acids etc, but less of it
- Ideally moms should just breastfeed for 6 months without any additives

■ Babies also lose weight during breastfeeding WHY? It is
because babies have fluid retention.

Lower incidence of certain allergies among breastfed infants,
particularly for families at high risk
○ Less ely to die from SIDS
lik Bottle fed babies are at a higher risk of SIDS compared to
■ breastfeed babies. WHY? Well, unlike breast milk,
formula doesn’t provide the same immune-boosting
antibodies or anti-inflammatory properties that help protect
babies from i nfections.

■ Breastfed babies often develop better respiratory and
autonomic system regulation, which helps with breathing and
heart rate stability during sleep.
■ Bottle-fed babies may also sleep for longer, deeper periods,
which can increase the risk of SIDS since they are less likely to
wake up during breathing irregularities.
● Remember!!!! SIDS is caused by when a baby throws
up, the vomit goes into lungs CHILD ASPIRATES AND
DIES :(

○ Enhance cognitive developmental for term and preterm infants
