EXAM OVERVIEW
The APEA 3P Examination is a competency-based, 110-minute exam typically containing
approximately 90 questions that evaluate clinical knowledge across three core
domains: Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Pharmacotherapeutics, and
Advanced Physical Assessment. A score of 67% or greater indicates adequate
knowledge in the core courses and readiness for clinical practice. The questions are
designed to test the integration of the "3 Ps"—connecting cellular mechanisms
(Physiology) to disease processes (Pathophysiology) and therapeutic interventions
(Pharmacology).
