Question 1: Read Learning Unit 2
Read the sentences below, identify the grammatical error and rewrite the sentence correctly.
1.1. The girls run to the library every day.
1.2. My friends are coming over to celebrate my birthday.
1.3. The principal, along with the teachers, was satisfied with the pass rate.
1.4. The grammatical error in 1.3. is subject-verb disagreement. The true subject is "The principal"
(singular), not "the teachers." When phrases like "along with," "as well as," or "together with" come
between the subject and the verb, they do not change the number of the subject. Therefore, the
singular verb "was" should be used instead of the plural "were."
