Types of sentence:

Purposes of punishment/ aims of sentencing: s.142 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003.
 Punishment/ Retribution: eye for an eye, element of revenge, display of public revulsion.

rehabilitation.

unpaid work, allows victim and offender to come together and communicate, labelling
theory, functionalism.
