Existence of the society is purely dependent on the language as a means of

communication among the community members. It is mainly acquired through the socialization

process from childhood by the social interactions with the family and the community members.

In the previous 7 weeks studies, we have learned the effectiveness of language in transmissive

ideologies. Various scholars have explored the language phenomenon as a traditional constituent

of social construction. Ideologies reception through language use demonstrates the implications

to daily activities and the education system currently in place. It cuts across the understanding of

the world and paradigms within it. Focusing on this statement, this argumentative essay main

purpose is to draw various scholars perceptions about how language constitutes the global reality

on social construction, ideas on why we need language and how language is transmitted and

received by the readers.

O'Shaughnessy and Stadler articulate how language constructs are represented and how

this impacts human society. They argue that the social world is a construction of languages

spoken among societies. It implies that our actions are based on what society defines as

acceptable, transmitted through language well elaborate for the entire society (O'Shaughnessy

and Stadler, 62). These actions and various social situations and institutions behaviours are

products of the defined cultural understandings. In the linguistic politics of naming, it is quite

clear that language as the primary means of communication creates an interpretation and reality

construction (O'Shaughnessy and Stadler, 63). The authors used two theories that describe how

the world and language relate. Reflective or mimetic theory suggests that language interprets the

world through naming what exists (O'Shaughnessy and Stadler, 63). Human societies
