 What are the steps should you take prior to making a purchase?

Buying is buying anything, whether it’s a car, clothing, food, and so on. Three steps can be
followed before making a purchase. Identify the product, the market, and the financing. (Siegal
& Yacht, 2009).

Identify the product :
if consumers are considering these steps, they will likely avoid impulse buying. We should ask
him whether it is really necessary to buy the product, for what purpose? It is wise to buy items
that we need, in most cases, people are buying goods simply because they were for sale.

Identify the market:
whether you are buying locally or internationally, try to identify the advantages and
disadvantages of buying the product in that specific market (Siegal & Yacht, 2009). Making a
comparison helps so you can avoid buying a similar product for a high price when you might
have bought it for less.

Identify the financing:
Depending on the type of item you are going to buy, it is wise to decide how you are going to
pay for it. For example, if you buy clothes, it is not necessary to buy clothes on credit, it is better
to buy on credit when you buy bigger things like a car.

 What steps should you take while making a purchase?

As you make the purchase, depending on the seller if need be try to negotiate for the price. Try to
check for the warranty of some sellers who do not offer any warranty on their products which
may be a problem in case the product stops working in a short period, you may not be able to
return it to the shop.

 What steps should you make after you made a purchase?

After buying, you should take advantage of the merchandise. You need to know how durable the
product is. If the item is damaged, you must be prepared to repair it or have it repaired.

 What is buyer’s remorse? Have you experienced it?
