through all 7 riddles together. We timed ourselves and it took us about 10 minutes to figure out
all the phrases. At first, some of the slides were confusing, but once we started saying the words
out loud faster, the answers became easier to hear.
The phrase we got was:
1. A kick in the pants 2. A blank stare 3. The sky’s the limit 4. A bump in the night 5. A stitch in
time 6. The Super Bowl 7. Way to go
While doing this activity, I noticed that each person helped in a different way. My mom was
good at slowing down, reading each word clearly, and thinking through them. On the other hand
my sister was good at catching on to the phrase really quickly and saying them out loud or
guessing right the first time. I helped out by reading them over and over and connecting with any
given answers until they made sense. We all worked together on agreeing on the final answer.
This activity showed me that problem solving in a group can be more effective than working
alone because everyone brings different ways of thinking. If it was just me I know it would
definitely take twice as long to figure the riddles out. As a group, we worked well together
because we each contributed different thinking styles. While working together I feel like I did a
good job at helping the group stay focused and involved. I made sure everyone had a turn to
share any ideas. When we would get stuck, I kept trying to find new ways to help us figure out
the answer.
